What is LVT?

LVT, or luxury vinyl tiles, is a relatively new flooring category that was created with the advent of high-resolution printing. At the core of its appearance is a printed PVC film that is laminated between a backing layer and wear layer. The backing is used to provide the resiliency, while the wear layer is intended to absorb abuse. The nature of vinyl allows us to impart textures to the flooring, adding to the realism.

Why should I consider vinyl?

Vinyl was once considered a technological breakthrough, though in recent years it has been maligned by many people. The bottom line is that Decoria uses 67% post-consumer recycled vinyl, and vinyl is manufactured to last a very long time. Hence, the long warranty, and low life cycle cost per year. For more information about vinyl and its myriad uses and recycling options, please visit www.vinylinfo.org.

What is Nano-Silver?

Nano-Silver is breakthrough anti-microbial agent that is incorporated into Decoria to provide an inert germ-killing surface to the flooring. What you get is effectively a non-consumable bactericide that is composed of real silver particles. The silver is naked to the human eye, but because of the small size, its surface area is exponentially larger, thus making it more effective as a safety measure.

Is Decoria a Green Builder product?

YES. Decoria is composed of 67% post-consumer recycled vinyl, thus has the ability to contribute to LEED credits. In fact, the largest bulk of the material (the backing layer) is almost entirely recycled. Pairing it with a low-VOC adhesive, Decoria can maximize the material credits for your floors. Daejin America, Inc. is also working to keep up with the changes in the LEED systems, and we expect to remain competitive not only as a green builder product, but as an environmentally responsible manufacturer.

What is ISO 9001?

ISO 9001 is an international organization that maintains international manufacturing standards. The 9001 rating is the highest rating given out for what is essentially quality control. It means that you are assured to receive a product that is repeatedly manufactured to the highest standards that meets its published specifications.

Where is Decoria manufactured/How long does it take to arrive?

Decoria is manufactured in our South Korean factory complex under close watch by quality control inspectors and shipping inspectors. From the moment we instruct our factory to begin manufacturing a product, we generally require a lead time of 4-6 weeks for delivery of finished goods, depending on location. We also stock every color seen on this website in our warehouse facility in New Jersey . Quantities may be limited, so you are encouraged to check stock before placing your order.

How do I use ADScheduleLink?

ADScheduleLink is a service offered by Architectural Data Systems that not only incorporates an electronic catalog of our products, but allows for CAD-based generation of specs and a spec schedule. It is a very handy tool for architects and designers who use AutoCAD and it also saves time and money. The best part is that it is free for use by a single-user. How do I install Decoria?

Please visit our technical page for a .pdf version of our installation guide and follow the instructions to insure a painless and successful installation.

What type of adhesive must I use?

We recommend that our product be installed with Mapei's ECO 350 universal adhesive. However, there are a number of suitable alternatives available on the market. The key is to find an acrylic-based adhesive that is highly plasticizer resistant, and we urge everyone to use low-VOC adhesives because it is not only better for the environment, but better for the health of the installers and occupants.

What is the best way to maintain Decoria?

Visit our technical page for more information regarding product maintenance and read about the 3 approved maintenance routines. We recommend spray buffing as the best means of maintenance. It involves the application of a couple light coats of a high quality, commercial-grade acrylic-based floor finish, and the use of spray buffing solution to keep the floors looking pristine. It is also the most environmentally sensitive because there is nothing added to the waste stream. Not even dirty water.

Can my floor be repaired?

The beauty of LVT is that it is easy to maintain, and that includes repairs. When installed with a pressure sensitive adhesive, such as the ECO 350, you should have no problems prying up a single tile with a putty knife. If you encounter some difficulty, the application of heat with a hair dryer should easily soften the adhesive and the tile, making it more pliable.

Are there other visual options?

Certainly. Although we stock 84 SKU's of Decoria in the U.S. , there are other patterns that are available. We also welcome the opportunity to work on custom jobs provided we can accumulate enough square footage to run a roll of film. We have long held the belief that these opportunities result in the creation of some very successful colors because they can help gauge the interest in particular styles.
